when you have addressed the ball and you take your shot but miss it altogether is it classed as a shot???

Yes that is the dreaded air shot. Worse than a sh#nk?

Had one a couple of weeks ago, air shot that is. I get loads of Sh#nks.

havent had an air shot in years but a guy that plays in our society can sometimes have 3 before he gets the ball off the tee and then he catches it and hits it miles. at the start he argued furiously that it wasnt a shot but when shown the rules he had no choice but to accept it. he still makes up for it by knocking a shot or 2 off the odd hole, or sorry miscounting. lol

Tommy Copper had four in a row once on the first tee at a celebrity Pro-Am . He then turned around and declared "This is the hardest course I have ever played!!"

Remember mine at JP's place Dave?

I went all out to cream a 5 iron into the wind on this uphill par 5 and completely missed the ball! Dave then threatened to chuck me off the course if I did that in his company again!

I haven't taken an airshot since!
