Great golf gadget for iphone
Came across a great golf gadget for iphone. 'Shot difference calculator' works out those complicated handicap differences, you know 'what's 3/8 of 17! It's well cool, you can find it in app store.

Thanks for coming on here to tell us that most people normally just look on the back of a score card
Joking and cynicism aside, drop me an email if you develop iphone apps would be interested to chat.

Something like that, Darren. Had one for a while but could never hear the thing when it rang, so missed all the calls.

On the subject of iphone, when I go onto golfshake via it it doesn't allow me to input anything. This means that I can't log in. Is this a glitch Darren?

input what anything ? ipod touch let's me log in ?

Nope, nothing. When you touch the screen on the input box it usually zooms into the box and brings up the keyboard. It just ignores you. I tried adding a round and it wouldn't let me

And obviously you aren't allowed to use mobile phones on most courses in the UK..

Tim an interesting point you raise.
I think that as usual it takes several years for those making the "rules" to catch up.
Mobile phones are banned, but I have never seen a course banning a PDA, or Smartphone.
What about a Net Book, no mention of those, add in a 3G Card and you can make IP based phone calls, but no one would ever call it a Mobile phone. you could even have a GPS receiver attached and an app to give you the yardage.
What courses should ban is the making of calls on the course what ever the medium used, and what should be allowed (unless banned totally) is the use of an electronic GPS device, be it a SkyCaddie, an iPhone or a Nokia. Personally I am more than happy with my old Nokia N95 Smartphone and intelligolf app for yardages and see no reason to spend £200 for a seperate device that can only be used for one purpose.
Smartphone always set to Silent at the start of the round so would not know if it was ringing or not!
