After what DM has said (which is correct) rub some a medium grade sandpaper over them , a little tip don't tell everyone ,

I leave my grips to dry naturally overnight makes them more tackier (tour wrap lambkin), allows me to hold the grip pressure at around 4 out of 10.

One other little factor that some players don't take into account is that it's all well and good having clean grips, but if your wearing a glove that's seen better days you've wasted the effort!!!, wear a new glove every 4 to 5 rounds.

I wonder how much you could sell your used 4-5 times golf glove for on ebay in order to keep the renewal costs down a bit (for those of us that have to pay for stuff).

Oh and I cant think I've ever cleaned my grips, best get the fairy liquid out.

Incidently I have seen somebody put a motorcycle exhaust in a dishwasher (his wife was out) It came out all gorgeous and shiney really great idea. Maybe someone could put they playing partners clubs in to see what happens?

Wayne, I was thinking about the glove issue today funnily enough because I've noticed a couple of times in the past and on friday last week that when I put a new glove on I shoot my best score for a while. I thought it was just coincidence but now I've looked at the 10 gloves in my bag and compared them to the new one there is no comparison. Not worn out or anything just gone a bit shiny and slightly slippery. Something else that just creeps up on you without you knowing eh. Anyone know of a way to wash gloves so you can get a few more rounds out of them? Just don't fancy throwing 10 gloves in the bin. Yes I am a tight a**e.

Always willing to try something new, I cleaned my grips before my game on Sunday. What a difference!!!

Ok so my grips are only some tacky ol' rubber rubbish and not some swanky new stuff but I noticed a massive difference in how my clubs "felt"???

Makes perfect sense really. clean them off gets rid of the oils and dead skin/leather left by playing.

It did however make me notice that my grips are knackered and need redoing... Hey ho
