1st time club member

Posted by: user16106 | Fri 26th Mar 2010 21:20 | Last Reply

Ive been playing for about 13 years and at present I am floating around the 14-16 hcp. Shooting low 80's on a good day and high 90,s on a bad one.

I have decided to join a club for the 1st time.

What are other golfshake members views on joining a club.

Did their handicap improve? Was this becuase of increased play at one place or playing with better players under competition conditions.

Cheers

Dave, CAC handed Geordie.

I joined a Club almost 20 years ago - but I also was fortunate(I think) to know so many who were not a part of the "established regime" and have never felt the need to be a part of that - having so many compratriots/friends also outside the game of golf itself - We all play within the recognised Golf Club - and to be able to do that and still be "ourselves" is to be fair all due to that "Golf Club" .... BRAVO Glynneath Golf Club !

I joined my first golf club about two and a half years ago.

My handicap has gone from 24 to 12 in that time.

Much of it is due to me playing much more golf than I ever have.

Lessons have certainly helped.
