Hi Guys,

Finally my first event of the season, "Sunningdale 4somes" This is a straight knockout over 4 days so if anyone is about to show their support then it would be good to hear from you.

There will be many top pros and amateurs playing so should be good viewing. I believe entry is free so if you get a chance pop up and introduce yourself.

I tee off at 8am on tues 16th March on the new course with playing partner Jon le Roux.

Fingers crossed we will get past the 2nd round this year.

Steve

Steve,

I have just checked the order of play to see who else was playing and the earliest tee time is 8:30am? I couldn't see you or your playing partner on there? Do you have any other information?

Hi Lee,

We were on the reserve list, and it seams they have not updated their start sheets. All I know is we are the first group off the new course. Having a practice tomorrow so I will find out exact time then. Either 8 or 830.

Good luck, Steve, I last played the New in 1956 and thought it was much tougher than the Old.

Good luck with your game Steve, and keep us informed on how you do.

It would be great to hear if anybody from this site is there to support you.

Just played a practice round on the New today, wow! For the time of year it is awesome, greens are running at about 10 on the stimp, and because of the dry weather lately it is playing fast when chipping around the greens.

Hopefully the weather will hold out, tough today with the wind, lots of 3 & 4 irons into greens.

Teeing off at 0830 tomorrow morn so fingers crossed for a good event, i'll keep you posted.

Gutted! Played in the morning and won 4&3. Played the old course this afternoon and had a great game against Sam Walker (European Tour) and Warren Bladon, the match went all the way but unfortunately we lost on the 19th.

Nice to play in a t-shirt and on a great golf course though, if you get the chance to play there I highly recommend it.

Juices are now flowing, I can't wait for the next event.

I see the girls lost the final 1down. 8 was too many shots!

Dave, I played with the eventual winners in a practice round, they are good friends of mine. Craig was due to go to Hungary on his stag do on the thurs and Neil was his best man so they both arrived a few days late. On the first night they dressed Craig up in high heels and he's broken his ankle. Doh!!

If anyone is linked up with me on Facebook , thanks to Dave my wife thinks I go on 'unofficial excursions' to the seedy side of town.

Lewis I generally live behind my TFT monitor but yesterday had a trip to South Winchester, then to see Steve at Blacknest and then a few meetings at Runnymede Hotel. Happy days, couldn't be a traveling salesmen !!

Was just wondering as they are a customer of mine.....well the group of hotels are a customer, it includes The Grove (and their nice course).......they don't even give their staff pref rates to play a round !

The Grove does clean your clubs for you and take them out of your car when you arrive.
