Hi all,

 I've finally bitten the bullet and decided to finally post on here!

 I've been following the posts for some time now and I'm loving the North v/s South banter.  Hailing from Cardiff i'm assuming that I must support the South in this do or die battle. 

 I recently joined Peterstone Lakes golf club in Newport, South Wales and was wondering whether any other golf shakers are members or live in the local area. 

 Its been a good start to my 'golf career' with my first 3 rounds giving me a 21 handicap, although I've purchased a driver recently and have to learn to control that slice!!  I think its my swing plane, my open club face and my grip... not too much to work on then!!!

Appreciate the advice and funnily enough that was the exact site I was looking at last night (linking through golf shake) and realised that I've got so much work to do.

But even with all the frustrations that golf brings there is always one great shot in a round that drags you back for more, at this moment in time, i'm loving golf!!  And hopefully will for years to come.....

Hi Damon, welcome to the GS forum I'm right next door to you at Parc, was a member at Peterstone back in 91,92 it looked a fair bit different back then. I'm sure you will fit in down there ,there are some good lads  so I'm sure you'll enjoy your time there. (bit disappointed you overlooked Parc )

Defo south supporter I hope, if you’re not confused like a couple of southerners who pledge allegiance to the North, but it's as if the play for us as they always lose their matches.

My advice to you if you haven't started already is to have some lessons before the bad habits set in. You have a few months yet before the good weather sets in, plenty of time to fix that slice.

If you can't find a local pro then my online golf lessons are always available.

Thanks guys, i'm feeling very much at home already!!

Even the 'skipper' has messaged me!!  I'm sorry about the Parc Dave, I've never played the course though, but would love to at sometime, i am very much enjoying Peterstone, and every does seem really friendly.  Oh and i'm definately supporting the South now, sorry all Northeners! 

Steve, I've already been on your website and it was very informative, showing me lots i'm doing wrong, but will keep working and I'm certainly tempted about lessons and will enquire next time at the course.

Oh and Russ, I think I know who your talking about but I daren't mention names as I don't want to be frightened away just yet!!
