Using A Different Golf Ball

For the best part of six months I've been using the Pro V1 golf ball, then when I ran out of them I moved onto the Pro V1x Playing golf last Saturday I realised that most of my Pro V1x balls had seen better days. Seeing as I had a plastic toy box full of Titleist golf balls I dug out a dozen NXT Tour balls for today's round. Well, what a difference, just didn't like them. Nice enough when hitting them but around the greens and putting, not working for me at all. Now this is strange as before I started using the Pro V1's and Pro V1x's I always used the NXT Tour ball. Isn't it strange how changing from one type of ball to another can see such a change. Russ

Yeah I know what your saying Russ. I went out for a game last Monday spur of the moment invite from my Pro/Colleague. Only had my light stand bag as only planned to go to the range, so had no balls except a yellow topflite I'd picked up god knows when and a Nike Vapour I'd picked out my range bucket as it had no stamp on it. Both balls felt like bricks and definitely could tell they were much harder then my usual Pro Vs. Around the greens they were horrible to chip with. Couldn't get any bite with them. However putting they didn't feel too bad, came off the face quite hot which worked well on the slow greens.

When The Greens Were Firm In The Summer I Loved My Pro v1s But Have Found Now That The Greens Have Softened I Can Get Alot Of Stopping Power From The Wilson Px3 Soft Balls.

I Don't Know What They Would Be Like In The Summer But No Doubt I'll Be Back On The Pro v1s Then. Not A Bad Ball At About £14/Dozen.

Have You Ever Played With The Srixon ZStar? Soft And Responsive Like Pro v1 Also

I've continued with the Titleist NXT Tour balls and everything is fine, even got backspin out of a bunker with one shot!

It took me a round to get used to them again.

I'll have to get down to lakeballs.com when the weather warms up and restock with my Pro V1's.

Russ
