John, to spark this exact conversation

Think Camillo will be a good contender plus some of the Asia players.  Maybe it shouldn't be the top 10 golfers but there biggest movers etc

What about the old boys? Which "old boy" will turn it on this year? Last year was the ever young Tom Watson with Greg Norman rolling back the years in 2008.

Ross Fisher should be on that list I don't remeber any of the non american names on that list being in contention in any of last years majors Fisher could have won 2 and won the world matchplay, he is the one to watch easily the best iron player in the world.

The Molinari brothers are fantastic players. They were awsome in the world cup and they've finished well in the opening events this year.

I'd love to see them both make the Ryder cup team, as a pairing they're unstoppable in my opinion.

But as the poll results (so far) suggest, all eyes are on my fellow countryman Rory McIlroy. It'll be interesting to see what progress he makes this year. I think he needs to win at least three events this year to live up to the expectations. To do that he'll need to get his putting right, I don't think there's ever been a world top 10 player as bad at putting as he is.

Having said that, I think he's a shoe-in for the race to dubai title.

Nah, I think Casey is out of the equation now as is Luke Donald, they both had high hopes but neither came to fruition so they will be overtaken by the likes of Olly Wilson, Danny Willet and Rory, the latter is doing well currently.

I will have to agree with Alan, if Rory can improve his putting he could be unstoppable. He has the best swing in golf, poetry in motion, shame his putting doesn't match it....!!!!
