Hope you asked Santa for golfing ability for Christmas. You'll need it in Portugal.

Looking forward to it Tim. May the Battle of the Bags begin. Plate of mussels to the winner!

Never mind Darren, I'll keep you up to date on our progress with texts if you want.  Will probably have to be after we've played in the sun, on warm, well prepared courses.  Possibly best to do it while a few of us are relaxing with a beer on the terrace overlooking the beach.

I made it to the airport by the skin of my teeth last year. As usual we had no snow here last year, but we hit major snow on M27 only the slow lane was open and we had to follow a gritter for about 10 miles before we could get past the damn thing. Then on M3 only one lane was open only cleared when we finally got to M25. What should have been a 2 and half hour journey took 4 hours 15 minutes. Thank heavens we decided to leave earlier than planned our flight was 6.15 am and we got there, after parking the car, with 45 minutes to spare

Actually Wayne, I remember in a rare moment of sportsmanship David conceded me a 2 ft putt on the 12th green at Pinta. It was my fourth, and he was worried I would putt it all the way back down the hill again

More like I was worried you would declare the ball unplayable and go all the way back to the tee to try again.

And as for hitting you in a straight line, I take it you mean you hit it in a straight line to just short of the Ladies tee

But the 12th is an easy green

God knows what you did for the following hole Stuart, you must of hit it to the right of the tee and just followed the water all the way round

Post reply

Stuart Govan

Crashed a drive over the water to just short of the green, then took another 5 to get it in the hole as I recall. Still beat Marshall by a stroke.

None of the greens on these damn courses are easy. They make a magnificent golfer like me look like an idiot

I'll agree with you re greens, just swot up on your short game and get it closer to the pin to start with and then you'll be 1 putting

Govan, beating me by a stroke...PMSL   ROFLMAO   as if.

And Stuart...Those greens make an Idiot look even more of an Idiot

Was just thinking.

Do you reckon I would be able to forewarn Portuguese immigration about Govan arriving on Saturday, you know flight details etc, and get them to detain him for a week. Could remand him for intention to hold up play and inflicting riots

Think of all the aggro it would save

As soon as they see him they'll whip him away for impersonating a golfer!!!!!!!!!!

Me and Mr B will be arriving in the last group. In the same way as on the final day we will be striding up the fairway in the last group. Because we will have left you all trailing in our wake and will be having our very own Nicklaus-Watson Duel in the Sun. Which I will win of course

Far too rushed a routine for my liking. The waggles and half swings are good, but he doesn't stay grounded over the ball nearly long enough. Needs to learn to count to ten before starting the backswing. I'll give you a demo in Portugal
