Hi all & Merry xmas.

Can any1 tell me why comps arent held during the week.  I cant play at w/ends only during the week and really miss the comps.

You should find most clubs have some kind of comps during the week. I've been a member of several clubs, over the years, and they have always held comps on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and ladies comps on Tuesday.

However. Most of the main comps are held at the weekend, because most people can only play at weekends.

Maybe your particular club does not have a thriving membership with a good competition secretary/organiser

DM, thx for reply.  As far as I know the only comps held during the week at my new club are for the seniors & ladies.  There isnt a shortage of mid week members here, as one of the guys here has recently unofficialy arranged stab & med comps for the month.  But you dont win trophies as is unofficial.  Because of this my hc is way out.

Well, Tony, looks like you are in a similar position to me. I don't play golf at weekends, nor am I a member of a golf club. There are numerous reasons for this. Two of which are the ridiculous slow play at weekends, plus the false handicaps that abound at my club. Always the same players win with 40 plus points and hardly any handicap reduction as a result.

This is why I joined Golfshake. Firstly to get a handicap. Then to be able to play in Golfshake competitions. Having been a member on here for some time and participated in a number of games and competitions, I can honesty say that the people on here are the nicest most genuine people you could hope to meet.

So, play golf with your unofficial games log all your scores on here and get a handicap.

Oh...And join in the fun, and play at some of the organised events on here..
