Recently played southport municipal(visit this course about 5 times a year),its in incredible condition for the time of year, fairways are like concrete in places.Playing almost like a true links.

Any golfers in the preston, southport area who would be interested in getting A mini-competition going in October?15-20 players required,if more that would be great.Reply if interested. Will call the pro shop and see what discounts we can get on green fees. And say £10 on top of that for entry(green fees are only £13.50 at the weekends anyway). We could either do a cashpot for top 3 places or buy prizes at the pro shop, ideas welcome.Playing off white tees,6200yards...perfect. Please reply if interested.

Nice idea. Most comps on here seem to be inland courses. Like Southport Muni but not played it for a few years. PM'd you John.

Right guys 9 competitors down and 2 others are definite just having problem registering.Booked another tee time with the pro shop so 4 tee timesin total.5 places left but until then we are down to 3balls.Pro also said white tees are available to play off,but they are assessed on the day..weather permitting.
