North/South Divide????

I just wonder if we can get agreement on where the North becomes North, I'm getting frustrated by comments every year (North vs South) about where people's qualifying area begins.

I mean I'm a southerner but because I live in the North i play for the North, should I really play for the south???

At some point the sniping has got to stop or we'll have perennial posts on the same topic as we currently are doing AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The qualifying area begins in the heart for me. Peeps should know if they are northern or southern regardless of address and should not need to ask..

But on saying that I doubt we will ever get a year when nobody asks where they are from..

Agree entirely with Robbie, but I feel  it is the individuals decission who they play for without having to justify their  resons and it's not like you have to produce a birh certificate , it all adds to the banter (santo),I dont think the south team will have a problem fielding a  full side. Just for the record we already have a northerner on the south team and it really shouldn't be an issue,I draw the line at poaching though!

The North-South split is from the River Dyfi in the west, across the top of Birmingham along the M6, out to the coast between Norwich and Ipswich.  Geographically at least.

I'm a Yorkshireman who lives in the Midlands and works in the South.  I'm not confused though, I'm a Northerner

Where as us Northerners are used to playing in the rain/sleet/wind/snow* that will be falling in the middle of April.

I'm studying it as a mature student Wayne, courtesy of Mr Pettitt!

No sooner had I arrived and been given a cup of tea when I was made to pull up a chair and watch an 18 hole DVD masterclass from Hogan v Snead!

This was followed by club appreciation when the persimmons were brought out of the hall cupboard for viewing.

Then on-course tuition the next day with the man himself, which included a compare and contrast session: how to score by John Pettitt and how not to score by David Marshall.

I need to submit an essay before next week's lesson at South Winchester

Humble apologies Mr Millichip, you know what we're like!

On topic, you play who you want to play for IMO, irrespective of where you were born or where you live. Just make your decision and stick with it. If you feel south for whatever reason, play for the south. If you feel north, play for the north.

If the numbers don't balance up, wonder if people who have a claim to play for either side would be prepared to swap? Way the numbers are looking right now that means Tim and Wayne could play for the south! Discuss!
