Been away from golf for over 4years since I joined the Army. Now since moving to Newcastle I have the opportunity to play more as I'm surrounded by courses and it wont cost me a fortune for a membership or green fees.

Hopefully be able to join some guys at game over the season.

Welcome to the site Mark.

I'm certain that you will be able to find a few fellow Golfshake members to have a round of golf with.

Any questions, just put them up on the forum and I'm sure somebody will be able to give you an answer.

Russ

Yep live in The Gosforth area so on the outskirts of Newcastle. Have about 5 courses within 5 minutes drive which gives me plenty of variety. Also work just along the road from Matfen Hall and I can get a huge discount on Membership through work so might join up there.

Been scouring the threads for local events and there's a few in the pipeline so hopefully they'll become a definate.

I've spent a lot of time at the range just to get back into the game, but you can't beat the real deal especially as I injured my wrist on the crappy mats at the range last week.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. :D

Welcome aboard Mark.

If you want to get to meet some of us, get your name down for the North v South competition in April.  It's the golfshake equivalent of the Ryder Cup.  The North have a proud record of having won the trophy every time it's been contested and while the rivalry is fierce it's (usually) very friendly.

Only problem is location Chris, wouldn't be able to commit until the end of March as it's a long drive from up here just for a weekend. It's a great deal for what you get, but I probably couldn't make it. Would love it if I could make it.

To be honest, is that comp not full? I know the south is (unless we just have too many good players)!!

I just checked and noticed that the South is over subscribed and the North are still 9 players short. As I am on the waiting list for the South, perhaps we can do something about that?

Definitely Brian

March is looking quite busy for me at the moment, but I'll have a look and see what days I have free, most probably be a weekend if that suits?
