I'd appreciate any comments on my swing:

It’s been a process of transition, and feel I am getting closer to where I should be!!

Andrew - I'd work on trying to keep the clubhead outside your hands until it's parallel with the target line - you whip it inside with your hands a bit.

Yeah, see what you mean...that could be the cause of the odd hook with the irons as I try to get the clubhead square on the downswing and over compensate.

 Something to work on!

 Cheers Jonny.

Yup - a big cause of a hook - I do it myself and can't stop despite seeing 10 different pros.

Liam, it's difficult as video needs another rotation and I can't slow the video down. It's a very quick tempo, with one of the longest backswings I've seen and you don't hold back once you've released. It looks like you hip turn is ahead of everything else which would explain you  having an open face on impact. If you've got a whippy shaft that will not help either.

 I'd try slowing it down.

Just goes to show you don't need a textbook swing to play good golf and shoot low scores.

You can't tell anything from this angle really - you need one from behind.

But I'd be sure if you dialed that swing in a bit you'd get more consistency. And also if you didn't have such bendy legs through impact too.

Bet you hit the ball a long way though?

He must be a natural to score as well he does with that swing and the cheap £40 set of irons he uses. Like I have always maintained, a good player can play with anything.

We should be going to him for advice.

1) Thanks all for your comments, I'll try and put it into action lol.

2) that driver has a stiff shaft so I don't think i can get much else...

3) I can hit a ball about 280 in the air... plus what ever roll I get.. so i'd say a long way..not as far as tiger but hey...

4)John, Thanks for that... the Irons were a bargain really, but I'm comfortable with them so I feel I would have more trouble with main stream clubs...Guess its cuz I'm so used to these......we'll have to see some day

Hi Liam, another small point that may or may not help but it's worth a try. I noticed that you look for the ball as soon as you've struck it. Try Looking at where the ball was. It was something I did to remedy a slice in my teens, I was too busy trying not to lose my ball.

I usually play on my own so if i'm havin a bad day (which, lets face it, we all do!) I need to have some idea on where my ball is goin. when I'm playin in a group though I do keep my head down, so thanks for that point

Liam, does your ball travel that fast that you'd miss seeing where it's going

Golf is all about habit & memory, if everything is set correctly and the swing plane on line then the ball will go where you want it to go, no need to look where it's going.

on a bad day it can travel so far right if i dont look straight away I'll miss where it goes... but I know its a habbit I need to get over, I know it'll take time but I'm sure I'll get there.
