Friendly Comp in north east

Posted by: user129155 | Wed 28th Jan 2009 10:55 | Last Reply

This is just to guage interest in a possible event up here in the north east.

8 players would be enough but the more the better.

There are loads of quality venue's around Northumberland and surrounding area's.

Nothing more than a provisional show of hands for who may be interested, details can be sorted later.

whatever most would prefer, I can get examples of costs and times for both and see what people want. Friday or Saturday would be good for me.

Are you sure it will be friendly, seems an awful lot of bickering going on in the North camp!

Bit too far for me as I'm from Leeds. somewhere around catterick or Richmond would be far enough, also I would prefer weekdays......Am I too fussy and hard to please?

Weekends for me...

Catterick, Romandy, Richmond all challenging courses...

But, peddle a tad further and ya won't regret it.

Longhirst, Matfen, Ryton Stocksfield, Garesfield - all good courses...

Or for the links lovers - Cleveland, Seaton Carew...

I live in West Denton Park - close to newburn riverside.

Matfen is good for me too, I like that course.

Feel free to join me for a round some time, Only £10 for guests at the minute too.

I think thats him yeah - they have planning permission in for a 2nd championship length course as the current one is not that long.

I think I will give matfen a call and get prices and set it up as a proper event.

Right,

I have spoken to Matfen hall and can arrange the following for 8 - 16 players.

Date would be April.

Bacon Sarnies and Tea/Coffee on arrival, 18 Holes of the full course, Soup and Sarnies when your finished.

Normal Green fee's for just the course are £35, I can get the above package for £29.50 per head, there is also an option of £5 extra to play the 9 hole par 3 course first If you wish.

I Figure we could pay £40 each and that will generate a prize fund of between £84 and £168 for overall winner and closest to pin etc etc.

How does that sound to those that said they might be interested?
