At the moment i'n stuggling with me distance with my iron. I am basically guessing my club selection beause I dont know how far I can hit each club. Last night I was eactly 150 from the green and I hit a 6 iron over the green and 20 or so yards into the trees. I put another ball down and hit a 7 iron, again into the trees. How can i work out my distances with each club? |

The only effective way is to go to a driving range, and hit 6 shots with each club and take an average of the distance hit with each club. This is best done on a calm windless day. Then you have the added problem of what to hit when the wind is in your face, or when there is wind behind. I regularly play on a short par 3 course to hone up on my short game, which is a very important part of playing golf well. Practice practice, practice. It's the only way...Hope this helps |
