Is the golfshake handicap accepted at the Belfry

Hi

I've booked a weekend golfbreak and we'll be playing the Brabazon at the Belfry.  We don't have official handicaps (although we all shoot in the 80s) so I was thinking of getting a Golf Shake handicap certificate.  I know the West Course at Wentworth insist on an official club handicap certificate.  Is the Brabazon the same?

Many thanks

Neil

I feel quite sure that if the week-end break is at The Belfry, that you won't have any trouble getting on the course, Neil.

Neil,

I've never been asked for a handicap when I've played it.

The Golfshake handicap certificate is recognised by the majority of UK courses. The Belfry rarely ask but if they do, the Golfshake certificate should be accepted.

Thanks everyone.  Apparently they ask that everyone plays to a handicap of no more than 24 but there is no need to provide evidence.

The Belfry are quite relaxed anddon't enforce handicap requirements .

Just don't stuff the 1st tee shot 70 yards in front of 50 people like i did ;0)

Steven,

Don't worry about that, when I was there last Thursday I watched a society of 30+ people & only 1 of them managed to hit the fairway from the 1st, the rest were topped, skyed, sliced, airshot & worse knobbed off the tee 2 inches!!!

John.

John

Knobbed off the tee is a new term to me.  Could you elaborate further.  I am surprised you are allowed to do it anywhere let alone the Belfry.
