i'd be up for a bit of Celtic Manor

Why can't we do something at Nefyn & District GC??

or even the Nicklaus course in mid wales.

A great idea Chris to have an event in Wales - and I'm game to play anywhere.

Wayne - I agree Nefyn & District is a cracking good course played there February just gone and was gobsmacked by the back 8 of the old course, as unique a passage of holes as you'll ever play!! - But it would be very weather-dependent as I can see it being impossible if its blowing a hooley!!

Kevin I used to live near Caernarfon and therefore played Nefyn and all the others courses locally regularly, I still visit the area and play now just not so often and in fact have switched from Caernarfon Golf Club to Conwy GC. Now there is a course!!!! which was used for the OPEN Qualifyer for Hoylake.

Nefyn is special and the wind can make club selection a nightmare, I once played the Par 3 14th, 165yds, SI-18 off the mat by the conning tower with a driver and came up short by 25yds.

I can imagine that!!

Theres also the quirky holes 12 and 13 - 12 is only hole hwere I have walked past a direction pole between the back tee and the front tee!! The tee-shot on 13 is also a cracker - 200 yards of carry across the bay. And to cap it all there is the pub on the way back to drown your sorrows of you're having a mare!!

Some of the early holes are quite tasty too - I think it was holes 2, 3, 4 & 5 along the cliffs, where you want to leave your slice back in the car before teeing off.

the 11th is a great one too, in fact all are very good.

if you let me know when your in the area we'll meet up and play her again!!!

re Nefyn you see the "Finger of Death" (the back 8 holes) as it's know locally in the golf mags that advertise Golf in Wales!!! you can make out the conning tower in the background

All jokes aside i've beeen aching to play up there for a long while , but time wise it's as long to travel as up to leeds for us southern walians. I know it would be worth it so i would be happy to nominate Nefyn.

We could split the travelling cost between us David as I'm definitely up for it.

But it would have to be late August/early September as I'm playing quite a bit of team golf during the rest of June and July, hence my none appearance at teh Northern Cup and the weekend Event.
