You should have found a few with your new FORGED clubs matt

Cheers Darren and competitors, weather was brilliant (so good my calfs, left side of my face and neck are sunburnt ) Company on both days was as usual FANTASTIC.

Surprisingly tough course for a corporate venue, but great 2 days out.

I've put what pictures I remembered to take on the link too.

Nice one again Darren, tough course.  I didn't get any problems with the sun though, I was the one with the little cloud over my head all day....

I'll start a new post on this Matt, don't want to be accused of "going off topic".

Darren,

The course itself was not that hard, apart from very narrow fairways, deep first cut of rough and very fast and undulating greens. Then there was the hikes between some holes, never to be forgotten!

I think the course was set up for proffessionals rather than us lot, felt sorry for the guys who only missed the fairways by a few feet, but could not find thier balls.

Having played St Andrews courses a few times this past 12 months, even the old course is easier on greens, width of fairways and first cut of rough, but harder on hole design. Its as if they laid the course out, realised it needed something else, so let the rough grow and narrow the width of the fairways.

Still a great day with a couple of holes with great design. As for Tim, at least we won the side bet for drinks!

As for me, took the option to hit the drive as far as possible and keep your fingers crossed!

I'll try and organise something at Rotherham after holidays, which is a great woodland course, where my handicap is based, and you can make your own mind up!

I'ts true there were a few glimmers of hope for me, Al. Yes we won the beers and at least I won a couple of holes in an otherwise miserable day. I also think I may have a claim for one of the longest drives of the day, my 365yd effort on the 9th!
