Chris Loukes![]() Handicap : 12.7 Location : ![]() Posts : | Posted : Fri 2nd May 2008 19:53 Can anyone help me with waterproof golf tops?? Trousers are fine but i cant find a decent 100% Waterproof top- ive bought 2 that were mid price £40 - 60) and they are both useless if things get really windy + wet. Anyone got any recommendations?? |

Last year I purchased the silk touch proquip top with the zip off sleeves (as worn by the european team in the ryder cup) & it is very light, very waterproof but I don't find it very breathable. I think the best top money can buy is the Galvin Green range but at £200 a pop thay aint cheap. You can always check out todays golfer the the latest reviews. John. |

I would disagree that you say it isn't very breathable. Its one of the few jackets I can play in and not feel like I'm sweating in and still ending up wet. They are the lightest and most silent jacket I've found and work well for me as I don't like wearing anything bulky to play golf in. |

I've had my current suit for many years now, and it's excellent. Cost about £200 in the late 90's. I've purchased a sleeveless waterproof top for £20 recently tho, and find these excellent for when it's not pouring down, due to increased mobility. |
Dave Doncaster![]() Handicap : 25 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Thu 29th May 2008 12:30 Chris, The only suggestion I would make is that you follow suit in how I purchased mine. Make sure you go to the shop, not order over internet. Grab a brolley. Put the top on and swing the brolley. If the top feels uncorfortable, forget it. If it feels comfortable, then you are on a starter. I was looked at wierd though but it made sense to do it. After all, you may have to wear it and hit up to a hundred shots with it. |
