Chris Boulton![]() Handicap : 6.1 Location : ![]() Posts : | Posted : Wed 12th Mar 2008 19:36 I would just like to get some feedback on what other golfers around the country think about the price of a bucket of balls at the range? Im paying £3.50 for 70 balls i just think its a rip off. |

Danny Brant![]() Handicap : 18.9 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Wed 12th Mar 2008 19:51 150 yard driving range, fancy that. £7.50 100, bleeding rip off. |
John Pettitt![]() Handicap : 13.3 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Wed 12th Mar 2008 19:51 Take into consideration, Chris, that the driving range itself cost a lot of money to be set up and a lot of money to maintain, so I don't think that 5p a ball is that excessive. If you feel that strongly about it then save all your old balls and go and practice at your club. |

John Pettitt![]() Handicap : 13.3 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Wed 12th Mar 2008 19:58 Obviously the practice has paid dividends for you though, Chris. Have you bumped into your fellow member and contributor to this forum, Kevin Hewitt. He is a fine player also and hits it a long way, as well as being a nice chap. |
Martin Cruise![]() Handicap : 23.1 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Wed 12th Mar 2008 20:00 £2.50 for 50 but I'd willingly pay a bit extra for some better upkeep of the range. I tend to use the free practice area if I can get out at lunchtimes; having to go and get your own balls back tends to concentrate the mind on accuracy rather than distance. |

John Pettitt![]() Handicap : 13.3 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Wed 12th Mar 2008 20:23 I have seen him hit every club, Chris, we played together at Donnington Grove, a powerful striker for sure. |
Christopher Watmore![]() Handicap : 15.9 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Wed 12th Mar 2008 20:55 £1 for 30 Balls at our range and we don't use Range Balls but proper golf balls with our own stamp/logo on. Get a lot of good feedback from users for having such a cheap range with quality balls that they get accurate feedback from when hitting them like acccurate yardages. |
Chris Boulton![]() Handicap : 6.1 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Wed 12th Mar 2008 21:01 cheers chris rub it in!! i was told from my local range which is about 15 miles away that i would need around £1.5 million to start a new range so looks like i will be paying £3.50 for a while |
Dave Knatt![]() Handicap : 28 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Fri 14th Mar 2008 15:39 £5.50 for 90 balls here in Worcester. Never really thought if that's alot - although I still begrudge paying £11 for a round of golf! |
