Club fitting
Just looking for advice on club fittings im starting to get hight and more consistancy from my clubs, not got a good score yet but i can feel it comming. would you say you need to be a certain standard before you should get custom fit? what happens when you go there to, will the guy sort out any swing problems u may have or just fit the clubs to ur swing?
Also whats the best way to go about it, some where like american golf where they have differnt brands or some where that specialises in one brand.
TIA

Matt
Being a bit of tight wad I would recommend going down the route I took. Got myself a set of custom built irons from designer golf. I sat down with the guy who builds them, he analysed my swing and custom built a set to suit me. They aren't big name heads but they are manufactured in the same Chinese factories as all the big names and to the same standards. Mine are similar to Taylormade r7 XD's I think, have NS Pro 950GH lightweight steel shafts and big chunky grips. You can choose from a range of heads, shafts and heads to suit you as well as the head angles, shaft weights etc. A 4I to SW set came to under £400.
Of course if you must pay for a big name it's up to you, bearing in mind that the guy who built mine reconstructs a few pro's clubs despite them being sponsored by big name brands...

The guy who built mine was in Drayton near Tamworth (four counties golf). Their head office is here http://www.designergolf.co.uk/contact_location.htm ,near Northampton. I'm pretty sure theat there'll be others around, I just searched for custom built golf clubs and found a place in Orpington.
