Darren Ramowski![]() Handicap : 27.2 Location : ![]() Posts : | Posted : Fri 7th Sep 2007 12:57 Don't say everything Any tips welcome and appreciated, although after yesterday's round I think I am in need of some lessons. You can also see 6 iron and drive shots in normal and slow motion from my user profile video page .

In the six iron video at address it looks like your hands are behind the ball this bad it can open up the clubface and will certainly add loft to the club. Try getting the hands level with the inside of your left thigh. Takeaway looks good but about halfway to three quarters you seem to stop turning your shoulders and hips and start picking up the club with your arms and wrists. This leads to that big overswing. Not sure where you feel your weight at the top of your backswing but my guess is you feel it balanced or possible even left side. Your weight doesn't seem to shift due to your ceased turn. On the downswing well either the shafts you've got are too whippy or your releasing possibly casting the club far to early. Certainly the clubhead passes the ball before your hands. Need to change that. Hands should lead the club head.
On your Driver video, fix that address position. Your arms are far too stretched like your reaching for the ball. Your backswing looks a little flat probably due to the fault with your posture at address and the swing looks short again due to the lack of turn. The big fault with the downswing is how you dip and lunge at the ball. You are definitely trying to hit it. The loss of balance in the follow through would agree that you are just trying to welly it. |
Darren Ramowski![]() Handicap : 27.2 Location : ![]() Posts : | Reply : Sat 8th Sep 2007 15:13 Cheers Chris, 'Where to begin Darren?' yep it's all gone a bit Pete Tong ! With the faults you've mentioned you pretty much picked up on the areas where my shots go wrong based on the type of faults. I tend to hit a very high ball, which loses distance with a slice. Yep it becomes very wristy at 3 quarters and I think I release too early. The 6 iron show was actually pretty good on the day but what the heck is the dip Video analysis is really good, and from simply taking those images with my phone I've now got areas to work on. Plus some lessons very soon will help ! No idea where the dips come from, not quite the Charles Barkley technique but very bad. Cheers

Video Technology is a very useful tool, but as Dennis Pugh would remind us, we shouldn't just focus on what the swing looks like and lose sight of what shot we are trying to play. |

I've uploaded some
I'll blame tidiness on the driver that was the 18th on a very hot day and all I wanted to do was to make it past the ditch/stream at about 200 yards.
