For anyone looking for additional incentives when out playing I have added a few new score related awards all simple things that can be focused on during a round. These include:

  • No 8s
  • No 7s
  • No 6s
  • No 3 putts
  • Early Birdie - birdie the first hole
  • 2 clubs - use only 2 clubs on a par 3 ie birdie
  • Albatross
  • Drive for show - drive a par 4 green (relies on entry of putting stats)
  • Big hitter - make a par 5 in 2 (relies on entry of putting stats)

For info of the awards see: http://www.golfshake.com/community/award/to-earn/

Matt, the system will reallocate over the next 48 hours. Unfortunately takes that long to go through 1million+ rounds of golf!

John, I'll check but probably yes although the system does get cluttered with lots of data from people testing which skews the figures some what!

All now assigned. Obviously if you add a new round then the system checks against the new round.

It's also worth noting that if you view your profile, top link, and from there click on your awards you can delete any.

Deleting any earned awards is a great incentive for the new season. I've not hit sub 30 putts for a few years and actually have a few awards based on par 3 courses, so I've deleted to try and earn back things like sub 30 putts, no 7s etc

Ah! That might explain why I have sub 70 & 80 awards. Is it possible to differentiate between a 9 hole par 3 course and a full 18 hole course?

I still say we should have super special award for driving the 10th green at The Belfry Darren :-)
