Municipal Golf Centre

Ladgate Lane, Middlesbrough, Cleveland, TS5 6YZ United Kingdom

Municipal Golf CentreMiddlesbrough Municipal Golf Centre opened in 1977 as one of the first of its kind in the North of England and by the end of the eighties it held the record for the most played course in Britain. In partnership with the Golf Professional on site coaching and tuition are available along with advice on equipment and an extensive retail outlet. The “Golfy” is an 18 hole, 6,330 yd parkland course with featured streams and mature trees set in 160 acres of South Middlesbrough. The course has developed and matured over the years and is a challenge for any golfer. The exceptional layout has created some very demanding holes where accuracy proves to be more important than distance. It is also the primary course in the area for beginners to learn the game assisted by the range and practice areas as well as the coaching and tuition skills of the Golf Professionals on site.

This was my first time at the course and other than the dew and worm casts on the greens, (which is normal for this time of year) @ £10.00 for 18 hole winter fee is excellent value for money,I found it a very testing course with lots of facilities,I never got chance to use the range but used the putting and chipping greens which were good and I am looking forward to playing here in the summer when the course is at its best
