Record 100 New Members at Mendip Golf Club
With only one day to go before the end of the financial year, Matthew Frampton, aged 24 and son of the Golf Management Group Chairman, was warmly welcomed as the hundredth new recruit into the Mendip fold for what has been a tremendous year for the club.
Jim Scott, Secretary comments “ Whilst Golf Club Membership nationally is struggling, we have successfully managed to more than reverse the decline and in addition, we have reduced the age profile of the Club, with the new members having an average age of less than forty. These younger members are not only adding a new vibrance both on and off the course, but also are crucial for securing it’s long term security and development”
Rob Needham, Chairman adds “ We have more than exceeded the first year objectives in our ambitious business plan both in number and age profile, but we are not finished yet! We are anticipating even more recruits once the new practice facilities, which will be free for members, are opened in the summer. However it is unlikely we will see the record one hundred being challenged as we are rapidly getting closer and closer to full capacity”
