Captain’s Role for Kevin From Mendip Golf Club

Congratulations this week go to Mendip Head Professional Kevin Pitts on earning his place as Captain of The Gloucester and Somerset PGA. Pitts will play this leading role alongside his Club duties at The Mendip Golf Club. The G & S Winter Medals continue this Month with Kevin and Fellow Professional John Goymer placed in the top 10 of the order of Merit. This week they visit Thornbury. The Mendip 1st Team started out strongly in the first round of The Mail On Sunday where they played hosts to Wheathill. The team made up of George Morgan, Paul French, Neil Onslow, Pete Davies and Paul Reakes recorded a comfortable 4 – 1 victory on home turf.  The draw will take place this week to see who their next opponents will be.

The Pro-Shop Stableford was well supported last weekend with almost 50 gentlemen taking part. Division one winner was Dave Burr with 39 points, second went to Richard Salter with 38 points and third was Martin Myers with 36 points. Division two was won by John Masters on 39 ( countback ), second went to Paul Godwin on 39 points and third was Steve Turner on 36 points. The Winter Pro-Shop Stablefords continue every Weekend until the end of March.
