Mendip Captains Drive In

Captain’s Drive In!

The Captain’s Drive In took place at the Weekend which sees the start of the new Captain’s reign and a new golfing year. The recent wet weather meant there was doubt as to whether the Drive-In would take place but luckily the weather was perfect with few clouds in the sky and the sun shining brightly adding that element of warmth. There were twenty eight teams of four on the course, waiting for a shotgun start and competing for a wide variety of prizes. On completion of the competition, Terry Russell-Club Captain, Elaine Kitchenham-Ladies Captain and Colin Davies- Seniors Captain then drove their balls up the first hole to finish proceedings on the golf course. There was a full attendance for an excellent lunch followed by the initiation ceremonies and prize giving. All three Captains’ will support the MacMillan Cancer Support as their charity for the year 2012.

Ladies Team- Jan Fukuyama, Sylvia Stephenson, Margaret Hawker, Margaret Allen

Mixed Team- Patricia Rawlins, June Millington, Martin Wilkins, Tony Griggs
