64 Cottrell Park lady members enjoyed their Christmas lunch on Thursday the 8th December, which was well organised by the Ladies’ Captain Jenny McGlyne, she also kindly gave each lady a present of a chocolate box,
A few ladies braved the elements and played a 9 hole competition in very muddy conditions, this was won by Tessa Matthews with 16 points.
Following the lunch, there was the annual presentation of prizes, with Mary Watkins Competition Secretary announcing the winners and Jenny McGlyne presenting the prizes with the assistance of Judy James, Ladies Vice Captain.
The winners were :-
GUW Medal, Vicki Long; Summer league, HelenEvans; Macmillan Spoon, Kay Bradbury and the Summer eclectic Mackintosh; Dragon Brooch, Tessa Matthews; Golf Foundation Brooch, Jennifer Thomas; Grandmothers Trophy, Gill Downs; Sandra Collin, Pencarreg cup, Summer eclectic Button and the Birdie tree; Celine Chew LGU Breakthrough Cancer Brooch, Llanfair Trophy and the Cup of Achievement which is awarded to the lady who has the biggest drop of handicap during the season.
There were also 15 monthly medal winners and 14 Stableford winners, all presented with prizes.
A raffle followed the mince pies and coffee, the afternoon finished in traditional style with many of the ladies singing Carols.
