Latest news from the Welsh Border Golf Club/ Bulthy

A record year for charity fund raising at Welsh Border Golf Club/Bulthy was marked when lady captain Joyce Lowarch presented a cheque for £5,500 to Break Through Breast Cancer representative, Linda Sagar.

Mrs Lowarch has led the way in a club effort including a charity fashion show in April when eight lady golfers modelled golf and leisure wear before an audience of 200 at the Lion Quays Waterside Hotel. Other landmarks in a stream of weekly fund-raising events included the annual ladies charity open, with 120 players from many different clubs, other golfing competitions, race and quiz nights, a Halloween fancy dress and a Christmas bazaar.

She said: "I am greatly indebted to all my lady members, and the men of the club as well, who have given such wonderful support to my charity throughout the year.
