What the club says: Burstow Golf Club is a nine-hole course situated midway between Horley and Crawley close to Gatwick Airport on the Surrey and Sussex border. It covers some 21 acres with a variety of challenging holes, although only nine holes consisting of 5 par 3’s and 4 par 4’s the course is still a challenge for every level of golfer.
If there were a formal description of a course which is tougher and more varied than a pitch and putt but cannot aspire to St Andrews, then whatever that word would be, it would describe Burstow Golf club.
For the beginner, I think it presents an adequate challenge.
Be wary when wet, drainage can be an issue here.
