What the club says: Westhill Golf Club opened in 1977. The course offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and across to Royal Deeside. Views from the course over the easterly Grampian Mountains show The Hill of Fare, Clachnaben (distinctive bump), Mount Keen (the most easterly Munro) and Lochnagar, (of HRH Prince Charles fame).
Our course is a challenging par 70/69 (medal/yellow) for Gents or a par 73 for Ladies which sweeps around the hill to the northern side of Westhill. While the ‘hill’ adds to the golfing difficulty it means that there are stunning views of the surrounding hills on all 18 holes.

A decent course. Seems to be going through a few changes when I visited hopefully for the better. One of the greens was being renewed so a temporary pin had been added on the 18th however this was not pointed out to us as visitors normally was there any signage to state this so unfortunately we ended up skipping a hole as we were unaware of the set up

Lovely course, brilliant holes and unfortunatley i didnt beat my handicap. If somebody finds 3 proV1's on the 6th they are mine and i threw a sandwedge onto the next fairway and somebody stole it. I am outraged at this as £17 was a lot for me. No complaints about the course or the staff!

Lovely course - nice gentle start before some tricky holes around the turn. The 6th really is a beautiful hole.
As much as I enjoyed the round though, that joy was tempered by the golfing ignorance and total discourtesy of one of the club members. Having sliced his tee shot onto the adjacent fairway (the one I was ready to play from) he proceeded to walk in front of me as I was about to play, waved me out of his way to hit a fairly rubbish approach shot to the green - and didn't even bother saying anything as he passed me.
Nevertheless, we didn't let that spoil what was a lovely afternoon, but I felt it worth mentioning. I guess every club has them though.
