Course is in excellent shape for this time of year. They advertised a winter special at 20 and a buggy for 10.....still never get an explanation why it cost 36 !!!!! On the top of the downs it can get windy but luckily enough the course does seem to be protected...you will need a buggy if you struggle to walk hilly courses.

Lovely rolling hills provide a 'test for the best'. Lovely views across country, excellent drainage affording all year round play, and a real challenge when the wind blows!

Lovely course set in amongst some gorgeous scenery. My favourite holes were the 9th (long downhiller back to the clubhouse), the 14th (par 5 through a valley), the 15th (180 yard par three across the valley), and the 17th (short par 3).
The downsides of my round were the number of holes in the fairways (I understand that badgers like to feed here) and the lack of signs pointing towards a few of the holes. They could perhaps do with some markers to let you know when you're 100 yards from the green too, but maybe they were there and I just couldn't see them.
One thing I ought to point out is that this isn't an easily walked course. You have to pay the price if you want to get the views!
Overall though, this is a great course to go play.

A stiff but fair course with challenging holes, not best for those of us carrying a bit of weight as its quite hilly.
Well maintained and enough variety of holes to make it interesting. Becomes much more difficult when the wind picks up as it is very exposed to the elements on top of the hill. Actually blew my golf trolley over once!

This course is a rather challenging hilly course including nice views o the Wiltshire countryside.
Even tho on my visit acouple of the greens had been worked on recently this didn't detract from my round.
The helpful advice I was given by yhte pro before my round about being careful about wich tee I went off as 3 tees (7th,12th & 17th) are very close & not too hard to play the wrong hole. ( Always a chance on a first time visit)
If you turn up on a breezy day in town it will be alot worse at the high points on this course.
My favourite hole is the 14th hole with the dogleg left to right in the valley with OOB on the right!
I can't comment too much about the clubhouse facilities as I never used them.
All in all a good challenge
