What The Club Says
In 1932, aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart landed on what is now the 6th green at Foyle. Today, the location is renowned as a premium parkland golf course with some of the best facilites in N. Ireland.
Foyle Golf Centre boasts a championship length Par 71 course, set at the foot of the Donegal hills and on the doorstep of the historic walled city of Derry. This maturing parkland is a fine test of golf, with water coming into play on several holes and USGA spec greens affording year round playability.
The range and quality of facilities on offer is unrivalled in Northern Ireland, and includes:
- 9 hole par 3 course, kept to the same high standards as the 18 hole
- Driving range with 26 covered bays, automatic tees and floodlights, open to 10pm daily
- Golf Academy and GUI Regional Performance Centre
- Total Golf retail superstore
- Large modern clubhouse with Pitchers Restaurant serving Lunch & Dinner
- Buggies, trolley and club hire available

Awful Experience
Myself and 2 friends recently had an awful experience playing the Foyle 18 Hole golf course. I reserved a three-ball for an 11am tee time today (Tuesday); unfortunately, our round was disrupted on the majority of holes by ongoing course maintenance. Beginning with the first hole and continuing on approximately 15 of the 18 holes, we encountered large lawn mowers operating around the greens and on the fairways as we played and even when teeing off. We gave way to greenkeepers on several holes, however, we did not receive the same treatment, with green keepers continuing to cut close to greens and tee boxes as we played. While I fully recognise and respect the necessity of regular course upkeep, and believe it reasonable to encounter disruptions on 2 or 3 holes, to have encountered multiple disruptions on almost every hole was not acceptable. For instance, on the 18th hole, one mower was cutting right beside the tee box as we began, another was cutting along the fairway as we played, and a third was working by the green as we putted. We were looking forward to a relaxing and sociable round of golf, which was completely ruined. I would not recommend this course and will never be back to play again.Reviewer Rating

Great course
If you are looking for a challenge then this is the place to go. This long park land course is sure to test even the best golfer. Still a young course but it's layout and length is amazing. Greens are perfectReviewer Rating

Unreal
The driving range is the best that I have ever seen. From the 35 bay trackman to the Automated tees. Great targets and a proshop that stocks everything you every need.Reviewer Rating

Room for Improvement
Foyle is a pleasant course to play and the grounds people work hard to keep it in good condition, However it still has a problem of member players not replacing divits, fixing pitchmarks and using a rake to level sand when coming out of a bunker. This can be frustrating during play. Several of the bunkers could do with more sand. An obvious lack of knowledge of the rules has players spending too long looking for lost ball hence the mark for slow play. Could maybe do with a 'ranger' on the course to keep things moving and players to be on the tee box at the scheduled time.with more sand

Friendly club
A family run club in which the family put a lot of dedication into keeping the course in super condition.all year round. A friendly atmosphere generally but some players could do with reading the rules of etiquette and use of litter bins.Reviewer Rating

Course with a View
With views of the Donegal Hills on one side and the Waters of Lough Foyle on the other, Foyle Golf Course is more than a pleasant environment to pass a few hours particularly when the sun is shining and trees are in full bloom, which it has been this past week.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 94 Handicap: 22.7)
