What the club says: Set in 140 acres of beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, Staverton Park Hotel and Golf Club was opened in 1977 and has matured quickly. The 6,602 yard championship standard course has a number of lakes and over 60 bunkers peppered round it, while its large, suspended water table greens allow consistent play all year round. A good challenge to all levels of golfer, there is also a driving range available for a quick warm-up before your 18 holes.

A nice looking course - fairly open, not much water but plenty of hills. A few left and right dog legs ask for a bit of shaping and/or tricky approaches.

Very nice course for the money

Good nice wide open course, 2nd time i have played this course very wet this time in places but still very playable, booked it through groupon and ment to have 10% discount on food and when got there to be told there was no food being served, and went to get a beer after the round to be told they had stopped serving at 6pm so not pleased with that part

Nice course, poor organisation.

Love this course, but the Marshall stopped after 2.30pm. Pace of play dropped horribly. 5 hour round.

On 9th tee, which is shared with 28th, there were 3 groups. Nobody teed off on 18 for 20 minutes. Marshall should have been out speeding up the slow groups causing the slow play.

Very Nice

First time playing here. Superb course, layout & condition and only £30 on a bank holiday. Its pretty hilly so be aware. Not many straight holes as most are shaped one way or the other. The greens are really true and pretty fast. Also the bunkering is great, you could be left with some longer bunker shots. Its a long walk from 9 to 10. Up hill shots, down hill shots. Balls above and below your feet, blind shots. Short par 4's. This place has it all. Well worth a visit and defiantly going to play again.

A slightly challenging course for newer golfers, a lot of inclines, bunkers in great places, water which is never really in your way. Nice clubhouse with a very nice function room, reasonably prices drinks. Club shop on site.

Surprisingly good

I was expecting a bog standard hotel resort course, but got a pleasant surprise.
A superb parkland course, in fantastic condition, really well laid out with some great views & some lovely holes. It's deceptively hilly, so expect a few climbs.
It's quite tight in places with good bunkering & tree lined fairways, but this only added to the experience. Look out for the 11th hole, a superb par 5 sweeping downhill to a small brook just in front of the green. There were many other enjoyable holes as well.
Greens & bunkers were in superb condition for February.
The hotel is nice, food good, breakfast disappointing & all the staff were friendly.
All in all, well worth a visit

Great course - ideal for a stay & play

Very popular course with GolfBreaks and for £129 for 2 rounds dinner B&B you can see why. Nice big modern hotel and a super course set in rolling Northamptonshire countryside. There are 5 incredible downhill holes where you have great views and just pray to hit a straight one to take advantage of the extra distance on offer from the elevated tee. Some really nice unique holes unlike anywhere I've played. Loved it. The par 5 11th is my favourite - would play that every day. Greens immaculate. Just a great course. Great layout, and I'm sure nice to stay at.

I played on a busy Friday afternoon behind a very large society group but the round was completed in 4.5 hours which is exactly as guided on the scorecard. It's a popular course for good reason.

I'll come back for a stay & play.

Watch out for a longer 'feature review' I'm writing for Golfshake.

Fantastic Course worth a visit

The course was setup in fantastic condition. Greens read very true and really well kept. Only downside was facilities, we played on a Saturday morning and no fresh food and only machine coffee available until 12:00.
