Golfshake.com Order of Merit 2008

So after 6 golfshake.com events and 2 member organised events counting towards the 2008 Golfshake.com 'Order of Merit' the title was eventually won by Martin Millichip with a combined best two scores of 77!

Congratulations to Martin who wins the £200 prize pack courtesy of Golfbreaks.com.

Martin put in 2 excellent performances earlier in the year scoring 38 and 39 points for his combined score of 77 points.  The final event at Staverton Park saw 5 contenders to Martin's crown all needing between 39-42 points to equal the 77 points but unfortunately any real challenge was hindered by the typical UK weather conditions (nothing to do with Darren picking the date).

Thanks to everyone who has taken part in the events this year, and a special thanks to those of you that registered for the Order of Merit by playing in more than one event.

After the event at Staverton Park the 'Order of Merit' presentation took place with some other well deserved awards given out to other members of the site.

• Tim Hawkins was given free entry to the next golfshake event because incredibly he has been to every event this year! In fact since the start of golfshake, he has been to 10 out of the 11 events, the only one he missed was 5 mins from his house!
   
• Kevin Shearsby is not far behind Tim, having been to 9 out of the 11 events, so he also was given free entry to the next event.
   
• Kevin’s wife Rosa became an honorary member for coming along to 6 events – now when you’re not playing, that’s true dedication!
   
• Chris Perry won himself a pack of lake balls for losing the most golf balls at the golfshake events.
   
• Lorna Nicholls won a special award for regularly challenging the men at the golfshake.com events, attending 4 this year and 7 in total.
   
• And finally, Wayne Santorini won a microfone, not just because he likes the sound of his own voice but because he is the top forum poster, commenter and course reviewer on the site – keep up the good work!
