Spanish resort Lumine unveils new Autumn Play and Stay packages

By: | Wed 15 Aug 2012

Troon Resorts Press Release

LUMINE Golf Club, one of Europe’s most vibrant new golfing destinations has unveiled two exclusive stay and play packages for golfers looking to escape to the Spanish sunshine this autumn.  The impressive 45-hole facility is offering a perfect combination of championship golf, luxury accommodation, modern Mediterranean cuisine and first-rate leisure facilities which can be easily accessed via the nearby Reus airport or a 45-minute drive from Barcelona International Airport.

Running from 15th September to 31st December the packages at the Troon-managed resort, include unlimited golf, accommodation at Hotel Magnolia or Tryp Port in nearby Cambrils, breakfast each morning and evening meals at LUMINE’s Hoyo 19 Restaurant. Enjoy one night’s accommodation, an evening meal and two days of unlimited golf for just 125 € per person or two nights, two evening meals and three days of unlimited golf for 170 € per person.

Golf can be played over either of LUMINE’s championship courses, led by the Greg Norman designed Lakes Course.  A venue for the second stage of the European Tour Qualifying School for the next two years, the course is a challenging test of golf that unfolds over a network of water hazards which wind around the picturesque Sequia Major wetlands.  The second championship course, the Hills, undulates through pine woodlands and olive groves putting an emphasis on shot making and course management.  Designed by Spanish course architect, Alfonso Vidaor, the layout offers magnificent views over the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding region.  Completing the golfing experience at LUMINE is another Greg Norman designed course. The Ruins would arguably fit comfortably into a ranking of the Continent’s top nine-hole layouts and is appropriately named after the traces of Roman archaeology that form some of the defining features on the layout.

For a taste of après-golf retreat to Hoyo 19 restaurant where a mouth-watering menu presents an abundance of Mediterranean dishes to suit all palates. Located within the Lake’s clubhouse which floats on the Sequia Major, Hoyo 19 is idyllically situated for a relaxing evening meal with views across the course.

Check in to the contemporary Hotel Magnolia or Tryp Port Cambrils, both situated within a few kilometers of LUMINE Golf Club and just meters from the golden sand beaches. Equally luxurious, the hotels are an ideal base from where to explore the abundance of local cultural and historical attractions as well as the late night hotspots.

Discover further world class-facilities at LUMINE’s luxurious Beach Club, fast becoming one of the most fashionable venues in the Costa Dorada region. Situated on one kilometer of golden Spanish beach and set seductively in the pine-clad hillsides above the sweeping bay of Tarragona’s Playa Del Llarga, it provides the perfect mix of style, relaxation, excitement and fine dining. The Beach Club also provides the location for the award-winning LUMINE Restaurant. Offering superb Mediterranean cuisine, head chef Eduardo Cuesta has already become somewhat of legend in the area.

Beyond the serenity of the resort, the Costa Dorada region is brimming with leisure, cultural and historic attractions.  From Spain’s largest theme park, PortAventura, to the Priorat wine region in the north and from the beautiful beaches at Cambrils to the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, the NE region provides pleasure and sophistication in abundance.
