If the newly-announced 2027 schedule is anything to go by then it has to be said that the DP World Tour appears to be in pretty rude health.
The schedule will take in 42 tournaments and, of course, right at the heart of it will be Europe’s bid to retain the Ryder Cup for a third successive time at Adare Manor.
It could be a year like no other. With the future of LIV Golf hanging in the balance, it seems certain that a number of extremely high-profile golfers may be looking for somewhere to play and it currently looks unlikely that the PGA Tour will be offering them an easy route back. So we could see a lot more of the likes of Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Lucas Herbert, Cameron Smith, Joaquin Niemann, Anthony Kim and perhaps even Bryson DeChambeau.

Three famous events will also be returning - the Singapore Open from April 15-18, the Open de Portugal from May 13-16 and the Hong Kong Open from October 21-24, the latter of which will be co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour along with the Singapore Open.
One of Asia’s most historic tournaments, the Hong Kong Open makes a welcome return for the first time since 2019. Established in 1959, the event was co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and Asian Tour 18 times in total after first featuring on the DP World Tour’s schedule in 2002. The Singapore Open is one of Asia’s most prestigious national Opens, having been established in 1961. The event was previously co-sanctioned with the DP World Tour between 2009 and 2012 and will be played at Sentosa Golf Club.
The Open de Portugal returns for the first time since 2020, adding another inational Open to the European Swing. Established in 1953, it has featured 38 times on the DP World Tour schedule since the Tour’s inception in 1972. The 2027 tournament will be played at Oitavos Dunes Links Golf, in Cascais in May.
There are also new dates for the Irish Open, French Open and BMW PGA Championship because of the Ryder Cup, which takes places from September 17-19.
The Irish Open, which returns to The K Club, will be played from July 1-4, joining the Closing Swing for one season. In the Back 9, the FedEx Open de France will take place from September 9-12 at Le Golf National, the 2018 Ryder Cup venue hosting the tournament the week before the 2027 Ryder Cup.
The BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club will take place from September 23-26, the week after the Ryder Cup. It will be the third Rolex Series event of 2027, following the Dubai Desert Classic (January 21-24) and the Scottish Open (July 8-11), before the two DP World Tour Play-Off events, the Abu Dhabi Championship (November 4-7) and the DP World Tour Championship (November 11-14) conclude the season.
In total, the global schedule will feature 42 tournaments in 24 different countries as part of the Race to Dubai. Additionally, along with the 2027 Ryder Cup, team match play will also feature at the start of the calendar year, with the Team Cup taking place from January 15-17 and featuring a number of Ryder Cup hopefuls.
Guy Kinnings, the Tour’s chief executive, said: "The return of national Opens in Singapore and Portugal means 17 national Opens will feature on our 2027 global schedule, along with other popular international championships and events played around the world.
"As Golf’s Global Tour, we are proud to provide this unique platform for our members to showcase their talents as they compete to put their own name alongside some of the iconic champions of our sport. It is a schedule that offers incredible international opportunities for existing and new players and one which will appeal to our fans globally.
"Our thanks, therefore, once again go to our partners, broadcasters, promoters, federations and partner Tours for their support and commitment to the DP World Tour."
