Royal Dornoch Offers Free Rounds to NHS Staff & Care Workers
Revered Scottish Highlands venue, Royal Dornoch Golf Club is offering free rounds on both of its courses to NHS and care workers who have contributed massively throughout the pandemic.
Available for the remainder of May and the entirety of June, staff who are currently members of a golf club and have a valid WHS handicap index can take advantage of this wonderful gesture and the chance to experience one of the finest layouts in the world.
Highly Recommended on Golfshake, the Championship Course at Royal Dornoch is universally celebrated, described here by Golfshake Editor Kieran Clark:
"The one course that I cannot shake from my mind is Royal Dornoch in the Highlands. Requiring a lengthy drive from the central belt, it's an adventure to reach this spot, albeit a journey blessed with spectacular views, but this unforgettable place is worth the time.
"Natural, the course is indelibly linked with the landscape. The likes of Ben Crenshaw and Tom Watson were stunned by its quality, which has seen Dornoch ranked among the world's best. Known for its small, raised greens, typically surrounded by deep bunkers, gorse frames the holes, it's a challenge to play, but an invigorating one, particularly when you gaze across the panorama when the course opens up.
"Royal Dornoch is a divine, heavenly experience. Feeling remote, you do sense like you're standing on the edge of the planet, somewhere otherworldly. I have been twice, and relish the day when I return."
Commenting on this offer to healthcare workers, Neil Hampton, General Manager at Royal Dornoch, said: “In recognition of the outstanding contribution of NHS and care workers to saving lives since the beginning of the pandemic, Royal Dornoch is offering free rounds on both its golf courses to NHS and care staff during the remainder of May and June. This is also timed ahead of the anticipated national ‘Thank You Day’ on 4 July.
“It has been a hugely challenging period for so many and this is our way of thanking those who have been on the front-line in the fight against Covid-19. We invite health staff from near and far to come and enjoy our wonderful links courses and look forward to giving them our friendly Royal Dornoch welcome.”
