The Best of Golf in England

By: Golfshake Editor | Tue 24 Apr 2018

With St. George’s Day having come and passed, it got us thinking about Golf in England. Featuring an extraordinary depth of quality courses across the nation, English golfers are certainly spoiled when it comes to the amazing venues they have on their doorsteps. We have brought together several of our ‘Best of’ Features and Reviews to complete a comprehensive Guide to Golf in England, hopefully serving as a useful tool for golfers looking to experience some remarkable layouts.

Recently, Golfshake’s Derek Clements wrote a feature identifying 10 Must Play Golf Courses in England, which varies between championship venues and spectacular links. The likes of Royal Cinque Ports, Woodhall Spa, Walton Heath and Stoke Park are included on his list of must play courses. Several other marquee names are celebrated on our 10 of the Best Parkland and 10 of the Best Heathland Courses articles. Also check out the Golfshake Course Section and our Interactive Tee Time Search to find out where to play.

However, more uniquely, we have analysed the Golfshake Course Section – and its thousands of independent reviews and ratings – to discover courses that have been ‘Highly Recommended’ by regular users of Golfshake, showcasing high performing venues across a range of price points.

Our popular ’10 of the Best’ features are broken down across counties of England and present a spectrum of courses that shift between the most expensive to more affordable, each of which have been highly rated by Golfshake users assessing their ratings based on expectations.

This is a Celebration of Golf in England, and hopefully inspiration to tick off some amazing courses this year!
