Discover the UK Swing Venues

By: Golfshake Editor | Thu 28 May 2020

Reminiscent of the European Tour's formative days in the 1970s and 80s, the Old World circuit will spend an extended period across the United Kingdom this summer courtesy of the newly unveiled "UK Swing" of tournaments. Following months of shutdown in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, CEO Keith Pelley has impressively managed to salvage a workable schedule for players, beginning in July with the British Masters at Close House, leading into consecutive events at Forest of Arden, Hanbury Manor, Celtic Manor and The Belfry.

Additionally, the Scottish Open and BMW PGA Championship - both part of the Rolex Series - have been rescheduled for October, while the prestigious Irish Open and popular Alfred Dunhill Links remain possible inclusions, but dates and logistics will have to be met.

Whatever happens, it's clear that the eyes of professional golf will be on the UK for longer than normal, which is a fine showcase for several venues, some of which are returning to the spotlight following years in the darkness, at least with regards to television.

On Golfshake, we have a vast library of features of reviews, providing insight behind the courses that the European Tour players will compete on, and the acclaimed hotels in which they will stay. We take a closer look at each of the venues you'll see this July and August.
