getting to grips

hey, i recently bought a new king cobra driver and have had quite a few problems with it. its fine in the sense that the distance it has because it goes like a rocket, but im just unbale to find the fairway and every so often i seem to catch one of the toe resulting in about a 100yard drive....now im hoping that its just me adjusting myself to the weight ect. but would anyone know any useful tips on how to stop the shanks and it going towards the right, and to get used to it asap.
