Scramble

Posted by: user60596 | Wed 18th Jul 2007 11:16 | Last Reply

Recently played a golf competition in scramble format. (Every player hits a tee shot, then we pick the best and move everyones ball there. Everyone hits and we pick best 2nd shot etc)

Really enjoyed it and wondered what you guys think of it.  Is it best suited for high handicappers, low handicappers or a mix of both??

I would definitly think about playing it again, as it really bonds the team, much more than any other format IMO

I've played in a 9 hole texas scramble before an afternoons 18 hole competition as a warm up.  Really good fun like Philip says especially with the rule about tee shot.

My only negative view is that is seemed to take a lot longer than a normal round.  Fetching balls, seeingwhos got the best position, deciding which tee shot to use etc etc
