Who are these people kidding?
I think this site has a few,er,less than honest folk, whenever i check out the leaderboard i see some cracking scores, but looking at some of the players stats there are players scoring low 90s with a 30 plus h.c. and someone scoring mid 80s,playing off 28 and h.c. not set yet scoring near par.
It's a shame really because its become a bit of a joke, the only filter really worth looking at,i think,is the putts.
Is it just me being a grumpy old man?

Hi Tony, PM me any scores you want me to look at.
I may look at introducing a new filter to the VLB (Virtual Leaderboard). Basically when you join the site and don't set a handicap then until you have entered 3 rounds the strokes allocated for the stableford points is 28 or 36. Thus if you shoot low 90's once you have entered 3 rounds you handicap will be around 2, obviously the points allocation for the first 3 scores will be inaccurate. I'll look to ignore these first 3 rounds from the VLB.
There are already a lot of filters already in place and over time I'll continue to tweak it to weed out the bogus rounds so the figures are accurate and can be used to compare against.
I will soon be introducing stats to compare your stats against the average for you handicap and better but again I am weeding out the bogus data to ensure the most accurate reflection before this goes live.

I do Mat,i enter every round but comps.reason being the comps. are stableford so you may blob.

I think it's funny. Some of the scores are remarkable, especially for high handicappers. Hope some of these people never turn up to a comp I'm playing in! I've found one who appears to have had 5 holes in one on a round. Not particularly impressive compared to his previous round where there were 9!
Will PM Darren with details

Paul I accidently turned off the auto update for the VLB. Will be resolved tonight when the next update takes place.

Aw, that means I'm going to drop a few places in the putting!

Even Tiger Woods can only achieve 69.4% for greens in regulation for this current year, so I would take all this bulls*** on the leaderboard, as just that. Even the professional leader is only 71%.

The leader in Greens in regulation is 18.7 handicap. He must be the worst putter in the world after hitting on average 14 greens in regulation. If I hit 14 greens I would be scratch.

I have noticed upon checking out the top five or so on the leaderboard in pionts, some of the fools manually change the h.c. to 28 or higher then they score loads more points to get on the leaderboard and change the h.c. back again.
Do they think no one notices,or are the idiots happy to decieve?

If i was hitting 68% of fairways and 72% of greens and then once on the dance floor I was taking on average 1.9 puts, what sort of scores would I be returning?
I don't think i would be playing off 20ish for long......

I have noticed that there is a check box named "Include this round in handicap tracking" when adding a score.
Maybe people are unchecking this tickbox?
Darren, why does this tickbox exist?
Surely, if you are entering a score into GolfScoreTracker you want to track your handicap?
My feeling is that if you enter a card into GST it has to adjust your handicap.
thanks, JD

Hmmmmmmmm, good question John. I'm just trying to offer scenarios for all events, some people just track the handicap like their club handicap so only record club competition rounds, the other rounds are ignored but used for stats.
Maybe it should say :
'Include this round in handicap calculation' ??
