Feedback: Interactive search, map and filters

Posted by: user8 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Wed 2nd Mar 2011 09:52 | Last Reply

This was done last night so any feedback appreciated.

The map search now allows you to filter based on facilities and club offers plus you can quickly view the course reviews without leaving the page.

http://www.golfshake.com/course/search/map/

Let me know any thoughts but based on previous feedback the following updates may be done:

  • Filter on price range
  • Filter on rating range
  • View price

Anything else ?

Darren

I dont know if I have missed it or not but being able to search "with x miles" from postcode is a massive help.

Darren, can I ask where you are getting the information? It's very dated, a course in Coventry has been a housing estate for at least 6 years, and my course is missing.

One thing I would like to do is the ability to mark the courses I have played.

Don't know if you could do this on this map but it's one thing I'd like to see.

Everything else seems fine to me.

Russ would you prefer your own special map attached to your profile ?

You could do that Darren, or you could set the map to show my 'Played courses' when I look at it.

What about a map where we can all add the courses we are members at. It may encourage more games where golfshakers can request a game with the member & pay the guest rate and arrange a return match at their own course. ?

Garry/Russ, what an awesome idea!  I shall report back, will give me something to do on Sunday night after I input my score card and the wife is watching dancing on ice !

You could have all the golf courses where GolfShakers are a member of in white.

The golf courses that you haven't played in Red.

All the courses you have played could be in Green.

That way, just by looking at the map you can see where you have been, where you haven't been and the places you'd like to play and somebody on here is a member there.

Maybe you could also have a list of GolfShakers who are members at the course appear, similar to what you do now for the course information/reviews.

Darren, is this too much to do while the wife is watching Dancing on ice?  Or do you want more?

Once you've done that can you look at why when I post from my laptop it posts on here without any punctuation!

If I post from my PC it keeps all the gaps, etc, but not from my laptop.

You could start a Sticky Thread called "Where are you a member at" with posts for different regions. We could just state where we are at & when available for a game ? or something similar

Robert/Adrian, updates done.

Garry/Russ, just ran an update on the lat lon info and will be putting out the test of the 'where you have played' option one evening this week.
