whats gone wrong ?!!?!
Now I am totally confused how the hell I managed this today.
I managed to shoot an 83 today but heres the most craziest thing and for the life of me I cant understand whats going on. I managed to only hit one good drive today and that was on the 2nd hole. Somehow I have gone back into being Mr Slice. Every dam drive I sliced I changed my setup, grip, feet positions, evarything I could think of to avoid this but I just kept slicing !! Now in all the fustration of this by the time I finished the course and we added up the scores I had somehow managed to Par 7 out of the back 9 holes and was only 3 over on them (I was 10 over on the front 9). How the heck I missed doing this I have no idea cus all I kept thinking about was the slicing !! I had to double check the scores with my partner and they were absolutley right !!!
My handicap as a result has now gone from 16.1 to 15.8 (hey Im not complaining) started this year on 22.
The only problem now is everytime I tee up all I can think is SLICE !! I think the last time I was this bad off the tees was about 8months ago.

David, I understand what you saying Im gonna try hard to let this one go (but you know what I mean it will probably still haunt me on the first par four...lol
Trying to now just look at the positives about the number of pars and reduced handicap that came out of it

Alps, have you ever been to a pro tournemnt? If you have you'll know how many of them dont hit it straight. But then they dont get paid to hit it straight, just get the little white ball, in the hole in as least amount of shots posible.

cheers chris - what do u mean by releasing the club ?? i tried to turn my wrist thru impact as well, I swear at times through impact ithe club had a closed face - so how can a slice surely happen if thats the case ?? am i missing somthing really obvious here ?? i also tried play back foot back so its not in line with the front foot and swing around the body technique (something from a golf mag) even that was a disaster !!
oh well !! lets see what next week brings.........a hook perhaps...lol

I found the easiest way to correct my horrible slice (before I rebuilt my whole swing) was to address the ball as normal, then move your right foot back about six inches so that your toes are where your instep was (Not widening your stance). This will close your body up and encourage the club head to remain perpendicular to the swing plane. Feels a bit wierd at first and isn't a long term solution, but it worked for me.
