to all you golf experts out there.........

is there a rule that lets you declare your ball unplayable from the rough ???  eg:imagine if i drive off the tee and slice it into heavy rough and you know theres no way you can hit the ball out what happens ?

i love this game but rules rules rules,,,,,,wait for it....... arhhhhhhhhhhhh

Cheers chris - but do i have to attempt to play the ball first ???  theres one particular hole where i alwasy slice it - if it goes in the ruff it usually takes about 3 attempts to get out so that 4 shots already.

Im being crafty here but if i take a drop then that means i can hit for my third shot and be close to the green and try for a bogey instead of a higher score??  Do my playing partners have to agree its unplayable???

The player is the sole arbiter as to when a ball is unplayable. You do not have to attempt to play it at all, as it would cost you the stroke. The decision is only yours and nothing to do with your playing partners. Just tell them what you intend to do.

the way i understand it,don't you have to go back to the tee and take 3 from there (asuming it was a tee shot that went into the ruff)
