Hi from a Newbbie

Hi All,

Started taking lessons last year in anger and found this site. Had a good mooch round and logged some scorecards to create a handicap.

Like other first time posters it's learning to hit the ball consistently and that hitting it like a mad man doesn't create the desired effect!

I'm interested to know if people starting out play in competitions and what their expereince is?

Cheers - Andy

Hi Andy and welcome to the asylum site.

You will find golf goes in many stages and your enjoyment of the game will get better as you pass each stage.

The first stage is to get over the topping/hitting fat stage, once you can strike the ball correctly on each shot then you scores and handicap will come down.
