Knocking It In the Hole

Posted by: user81455 | Wed 23rd Sep 2009 23:32 | Last Reply

I fed up with playing with people who get it somewhere near the hole and then try to knock it in back handed, one handed or croquet style.  In my opinion if you are going to putt out you should do it properly but if you are giving yourself the putt you should pick it up and not waste time.  I should add that this is happening in non competitive social rounds.

However I have played in two competitions this year where a person whose card I was marking forgot they were in a comp and tried to knock it in backhanded and missed which shows what a bad habit it is to get into.  What do other people think?

I understand what you are saying, Jon, but it is not important enough for me to get uptight about it. We have all done it at some time or other.

i don't see any problem here ..... what other golfers do providing it's legal shouldn't concern anybody !?
