North/South Divide????
I just wonder if we can get agreement on where the North becomes North, I'm getting frustrated by comments every year (North vs South) about where people's qualifying area begins.
I mean I'm a southerner but because I live in the North i play for the North, should I really play for the south???
At some point the sniping has got to stop or we'll have perennial posts on the same topic as we currently are doing AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The qualifying area begins in the heart for me. Peeps should know if they are northern or southern regardless of address and should not need to ask..
But on saying that I doubt we will ever get a year when nobody asks where they are from..
N.W.O.T.........

Agree entirely with Robbie, but I feel it is the individuals decission who they play for without having to justify their resons and it's not like you have to produce a birh certificate , it all adds to the banter (santo),I dont think the south team will have a problem fielding a full side. Just for the record we already have a northerner on the south team and it really shouldn't be an issue,I draw the line at poaching though!

Does that mean you don't want to play on our side then Dave, go on you know you want to

I'm a southerner who lives in the north and I've registered for the north, and I really did consider playing for the south. Perhaps we could have an Confused North v. Confused South match - just to make things a bit more confusing!!!

David
Is it true that one of the reasons santo wants to play for the south is so he doesnt get his butt kicked 7&6 again by you and your lad?
sorry wayne but you aint gonna live this down for a while

Hmmmmm... Santorini - The world famous island of Santorini is the southern most island of the Cycladic group in the Aegean Sea. So yep, Wayne is definitely a Southerner. Mind you... 7 & 6 ??? The North can keep him!!

Santo you already play for the south, your a guaranteed point for us

Don't think a venue has been finalised yet but it's the 18 and 19 April 2010. You not registered for the South yet? North team is full!!!!!!!!
Reply : Mon 21st Sep 2009 22:39
Might as well laugh now cos you won't be by the end of the 19th April 2010.

The North-South split is from the River Dyfi in the west, across the top of Birmingham along the M6, out to the coast between Norwich and Ipswich. Geographically at least.
I'm a Yorkshireman who lives in the Midlands and works in the South. I'm not confused though, I'm a Northerner

The Southern Softies are waiting to see what the weather is like before they commit to playing.
Where as us Northerners are used to playing in the rain/sleet/wind/snow* that will be falling in the middle of April.

Born in Hemel Hempstead, schooled in Redditch (brum), uni'd in Sheffield and still here. A Watford follower - but class myself as a northerner

Might as well call it "Us verses Them" if you can choose your team. In your heart you'll know who you should play for.
Reply : Thu 24th Sep 2009 00:10
Strange you should mention that Stuart. Couple of things, I did play for the Romford Society (with fellow Northerner Russ) against our 3 Counties society and we whooped the Northerners. And besides, the South have such strength in depth I probably wouldn't make the team (copyright D. Marshall, 2007, 2008 & 2009).

We do have a score to settle and win back the trophy which is rightfully ours. Mr Dave Ley will have a much harder task to keep it than it was for you to win it Dave.
You mark my words - THE NORTH WILL BE READY !!!!

When will the next North/South encounter take place....? I'm definitely a southerner being from Atlanta, Ga! ;-)
Reply : Mon 28th Sep 2009 16:59
I thought lemonade was the preferred tipple of the south, with a dash of lager of course!

I'm not one for blowing the North's trumpet nor slagging off the South but a pre curser in the Algarve for a sherbert or two will be a good laugh (or serious stuff).
Reply : Tue 29th Sep 2009 15:47
We'll give you two as long as you keep Stuart...
Reply : Tue 27th Oct 2009 16:55
Hey, lay off my NvS partner. Stuart and I have a 100% win record so both teams should be begging us to play for them.
